Located on the roof of the Curaçao Sea Aquarium
The Queen conch Hatchery shares its open water system with the Curaçao Sea Aquarium.

This system constantly pulls in sea water and circulates it through the tanks, nurseries, and hatchery.

This gives us the ability to recreate the most ideal living conditions for the conchs.
Meet the team
Our team consists of a group of people with a mix of backgrounds; (marine) biologists, aquacultural engineers, legal advisors, scientists, communication and finance specialists.
What we have in common? We are very passionate about the hatchery, about the Queen Conch and are dedicated to the long term conservation of our queen of the sea

Team Queen Conch Hatchery Curaçao
2023-2024
Started our operations in 2020
While starting our operations in 2020, the idea for raising conchs for consumption started earlier. This however quickly changed because it became clear from the start that raising conchs is very challenging and time consuming.
With the help of experts such as Professor Megan Davis of the Florida Atlantic University, we started setting up a proper hatchery, with with the iconic Queen Conch.

Our goal is to repopulate the local waters of Curaçao, but we also want to be a hub for the region, contributing to more widespread conch conservation.
